About
Hi, My name is Richard Rixham. Welcome to my blog.
I live in Sheffield with my Lovely wife Sue and our two young children, Ella and Rose.
I am a Senior Systems Consultant (Developer and Project Manager) for a New Zealand based company, Gentrack, that specialises in Airport Management Systems.
I have developed in PICK Basic (Generic PICK, Unidata, IBM U2) and VB6. I have dabbled in HTML, VBScript, Javascript, ASP and PHP. Started to take a look at Ruby and OO programming.
My interests include reading, TV and Films, playing with computers (although the time spent on this outside of work is minimal) and Arduino. I help to run the Sheffield Arduino Hackers Network (http://shacknetwork.co.uk)
I like listening to 80′s hair metal and also new country music, such as Toby Keith, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, etc.
I also like running and have completed a number of 5k runs. I’m looking to run in the Great Yorkshire Run in 2012.
I have recentlytaken up GoJo Ryu Karate.
